Dear AAUW members,
The year ahead is one of excitement and challenge! Our local branch will, of course, continue with our monthly programs, our annual October yard sale for scholarships for women at Forsyth Tech, our Educational Fund Drive, our LAF efforts, our book drive for students in elementary school and our Healthy Lifestyles Project. We hope to have some fun, too.
We are also hosting the state convention in April 2007. Becky Pfaff and Ellen Morris are our co-chairs, but all of us will need to help and to attend. What a great way to “show off” Winston-Salem and to celebrate our 60th year!! It will be a great time to celebrate women in our local community and in our state. I hope you will join me in being part of this effort.
I look forward to working with each of you and becoming better acquainted with those I do not know. What could be more crucial than educating girls and women for today’s world.
